Negative taken for September 9, 1958, Arkansas Gazette article, "James Boys Paid Politely for Turner's Bend Hospitality," B1:2. Eli Turner recalled when Jesse and Frank James and the Young stayed with his family in a log building one night in 1880's. Eli's father, Sam Turner did not consider them outlaws and the men paid in the morning for the accommodations and horses. This log building situated along State Highway 23 near Turner's Bend was built by Sam Turner in the 1880's. The House where Jesse and Frank stayed was an earlier family home. In 1958, the house was owned by unidentified Texan. Turner Bend is north of Ozark, Franklin County, Arkansas.
